Rant is a good word.
However "attention to detail is" also a good phrase.
In english English we are not used to a single parenthesis to identify a parenthetic clause. Neither is it usual to start a sentence with "And or "But", (or even However").
I enjoyed the rant and gave up buying newspapers some time ago, only reading them when in a cafe that has free-bees. one reason is that the "papers" do insist on the glorification of war, and the sensationalisation of crime and all things bad. One would be forgiven for thinking the world is not a very good place and that all forms of crime abound around us. It does not, Look around your own neibourhood and evaluate the percentage per populace of actual crime. I personally do not know one criminal. According to the press and media, I should be bumping into them at every turn. Perhaps being accosted by someone, of whatever appearance is more an indication that the mall is not a crime zone, it is just not a comfort zone. Thanks for stirring my thoughts and restoring my perspective. Dad
